USAGE NOTES / 05
Manage direct transfer, step by step.
A concise reference for file selection, recipient approval, large-file streaming, and connection issues.
Send a file
Drop a file into the workspace or select it from your device.
You get an eight-character temporary code and a shareable link.
File bytes move only after the recipient explicitly accepts the offered file.
Receive a file
A shared link fills in the code automatically; you can also enter it yourself.
Check the file name and size. Accept only files from a source you trust.
Small files can be downloaded when finished. For files over 256 MB, the browser asks for a disk location.
Large-file streaming
Instead of accumulating the file in browser memory, transfer data is written to the recipient's chosen disk. Keep both devices, browser tabs, and destination disk available throughout the transfer.
Troubleshooting
Devices cannot connect
Make sure both devices are online and run the System Status check. Restricted networks may require the relay service.
Transfer looks slow
Speed depends on both devices' connection capacity and the route between them. Keep tabs open and devices awake.
A large file cannot be received
Use current Chrome or Edge and ensure that the disk has enough free space and write permission.
The connection code expired
Return to the transfer workspace and create a new connection. Codes are temporary for privacy.
Frequently asked questions
Is the service free?
Yes. No account, subscription, or payment is required. The single-file limit is 1 TB.
Are files stored on the server?
No. The service carries only short-lived pairing messages required to establish the connection.
Which file types can I send?
You can send documents, photos, videos, archives, and other file types that your browser can select.
Does a transfer resume after disconnection?
The current version does not resume an interrupted transfer. Start again with a new code.
